Gentle loop walks run along the Shannon Blueway, perfect for exploring the river by foot or cycle.
At 10km the Drumhauver Bridge Loop walk is the longest of the looped trails. Starting at Battlebridge Lock, the trails takes you alongside the canal, past Drumleague Lock, before crossing over the Drumhauver Bridge and following the trail on the opposite side of the canal back to Battlebridge Lock.
You can choose to extend the walk further by continuing on the linear trail bewewen Drumhauver Bridge and the Acres Lake Boardwalk.
GRADE: Easy
Trail only has gentle slopes with no continuous climbing on the route. Suitable for family groups including children and the elderly.

DIRECTIONS TO THE STARTING POINT: In Leitrim Village take the left turn for Keadue (R284) In 1km watch for a stone bridge which crosses the canal. Turn left just before and travel 100m to reach Battlebridge Lock. The trailhead is located at the mapboard here.
