Dial M for Murder at The Dock Carrick on Shannon Co Leitrim

 Tues 27 Feb—Fri 1 March Dial M for Murder. The Breffni Players are pleased to announce their production of Dial M for Murder by Frederick Knot will be staged at The Dock from Tuesday 27 February to Friday 1 March 2024.

Fri 1 March, 6—7.30pm, First Fridays at The Dock. The Leitrim Larks welcome you to the March Lend an Ear session featuring special guests from the locality who will share songs from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Wednesday 6 March, 11.30am. Typist Artist Pirate King.  Audrey Amiss (1933-2013) was a talented artist whose career was derailed by mental illness. She left behind an extensive archive of paintings and journals, which acclaimed filmmaker Carol Morley has explored to create a vivid portrait of this hilarious but tragic heroine.

Friday 8 March, 7.30pm. A Miscellany of Women’s Voices.  The Reading Room Bookshop presents A Miscellany of Women’s Voices to mark International Women’s Day 2024. Caron McCaffrey, Maura McNally, Carmel McMahon  and Margot Slattery will share their experiences of the world through the prism of womanhood.

Saturday 9 March, 8pm. Gearóid Farrelly—Glamour Hammer. The big issues that really sell tickets like mental health (INSERT SOMETHING SEARINGLY HONEST), masculinity (grrrr) and relationships (sexy stuff as opposed to splitting bills). Gearóid takes a look at the litany of things in our lives that just don’t measure up

Friday 15 March, 8pm. Réalta ft. Myles McCormack. The dynamic Ulster-based Irish traditional group carry on the Bothy Band tradition of taking tunes by the scruff of the neck and firing excitement through them like hot flames! The band have joined forces with acclaimed Belfast singer Myles McCormack

Friday 22 March, 8pm. Donal O’Connor with Matteo Cullen. The Dock warmly welcomes Boyle musician Donal O’Connor with Matteo Cullen on Friday 22 March. Donal has built a reputation for wonderful original songs and for superb live shows. “O’Connor captures beautifully the foibles of Irish life.” – The Irish Times.

Friday 29 March, 1.15pm, 5pm and 8pm. Ante Beckett. Exit Does Theatre presents Ante Beckett, an original one-act comedy (25 mins) written by Joel Smith, performed by Paddy McEneaney and directed by John Carty. The play centres around a single character, a Samuel Beckett-type figure dealing with the life in which he is present, his mother’s womb, and the one he is preparing to face in the vast world beyond.
