February at The Dock
10th February: Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh with Gerry O’Beirne and Dónal O’Connor. Following on from multiple 5 star reviews of her album Róisín ReImagined with The Irish Chamber Orchestra, RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Singer of the Year 2022, Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh is embarking on an Irish tour, accompanied by celebrated musicians Gerry O’Beirne (guitar, vocals) and Dónal O’Connor (fiddle, keyboards, vocals). This concert is an engaging and varied programme of songs in Irish and English along with lively instrumental pieces, and the trio are well known for their warm rapport with audiences.
14th February Past Lives Classic Cinema. This year’s Valentine’s Day screening is the beautiful and authentically romantic film, Past Lives – a debut feature film from playwright, Celine Song.
15th February Zoé Basha & Aina Tulier. Following an artist residency on Arranmore in early 2024, Leitrim-based Zoé Basha and French musician Aina Tulier will be touring Ireland with works they have been developing, exploring links between Appalachian, Irish and Occitan traditional music.
17th February Out of the Ordinary – Irish National Opera. Experience the world’s first virtual reality community opera with Irish National Opera.
Out of the Ordinary/As an nGnách tells the tale of a community forced to flee their barren homeland, which, due to their own actions, can no longer sustain them. Nalva, our main character, builds a boat to take her people on an epic journey to find a new home.
27th February – 1st March Dial M for Murder The Breffni Players. The Breffni Players are pleased to announce their production of Dial M for Murder by Frederick Knot will be staged at The Dock from Tuesday 27 February to Friday 1 March 2024. Not to be missed! Dial M for Murder, directed by Angus Dunne and with a talented cast, is a psychological thriller which has a riveting storyline and unique plot with surprising twists, mystery and suspense to keep you guessing to the end of this exciting play.
