This project received grant aid from Leitrim Local Community Development Committee under the Rural Development Programme which is financed by the Irish Government under the Rural Development Programme Ireland 2014-2020 and by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development: Europe investing in Rural Areas.
There is an enticing selection of things to do in Leitrim that encourage you to experience the county at your own pace.
Hikers will find some of the most breathtaking peaks in the North West of Ireland, whilst our tracks and trails cater for walkers of every level. Water lovers will find plenty to dip their toes into whilst enjoying kayaking, surfing and paddle boarding.
Leitrim has long been renowned as an anglers’ paradise and our lakes are brimming with coarse and game fishing. It is the perfect setting for a relaxed holiday cruising the River Shannon and our natural landscape really lends itself to off-road cycling and even climbing.
Visitor centres showcase the art, culture and heritage of the region and unhurried cafés and restaurants, serving delicious local food, are never too far away.
But don’t worry we don’t expect you to do it all in the one day! In fact we’d encourage you to take your time to truly experience the invigorating Leitrim landscape.
