Leitrim County Council has unveiled an ambitious framework for the development of tourism in County Leitrim.
The ‘Tourism in Leitrim Review and Framework 2023 – 2027’ was officially launched by Cathaoirleach Justin Warnock on Friday, 17th November 2023, at the annual Tourism workshop.
The framework focuses on Infrastructure & Experience Development, Fast Tracking Entrepreneurship, Collaboration, Sales, Marketing and Digital transformation and Sustainability.
30 Strategic priorities set out in the plan include working collaboratively to develop the profile, experiences and infrastructure of County Leitrim and working with community partners to strengthen the role of towns and villages as destination hubs. Other strategic priorities include:
- Working with SLNCR to secure and sustain new routes.
- Prioritising the development of Blueways and Greenway.s
- Establishing sustainable travel options designed to support tourism.
Developed on behalf of Leitrim County Council by consultancy firm Bane Mullarkey Consultants, the 5-year framework has been overseen by Leitrim County Council with extensive consultation from various stakeholders, local tourism industry, and community groups.
