Diaspora Survey: Leitrim County Council needs your valuable help.

Leitrim County Council would like your assistance to discover where in the world Leitrim’s Diaspora now live.

Leitrim’s History, Culture and Heritage have been made by the many generations of men and women whose descendants now live all over the world. Throughout history, Leitrim has suffered a considerable population decline from a population in 1847 160,000 to today, where the county’s population stands at approximately 35,000. Emigration during this period has led to people with Leitrim heritage being relocated worldwide.

In order to discover where the Leitrim Diaspora is in the world, the Leitrim County Council is inviting people from outside of County Leitrim to participate in the Diaspora Survey.

You can help by encouraging family and friends with Leitrim heritage to participate. By doing you are helping to strengthen the connections with our Leitrim family across the world.
