11th Adaptation Film Weekend at The Glens Arts Centre!

Adaptation is back with an even greater emphasis this year on the potential of the wider region as a place of film production: a new John McGahern film adaptation; a documentary profile of a prominent member of Leitrim’s newer communities; a second feature film from a Leitrim-based filmmaker and company; and
premieres of short film work from the region’s emerging filmmakers.
We celebrate the surreal writing of Flann O’Brien with a glimpse at the largely untapped cinematic potential of his writing. We look at ways that theatre can reach a potentially wider audience in
the hands of a film director and, with the launch of the SLR Producers’ Network, we explore the potential of a new wave of filmmakers to build on the film, animation and tv work already being produced in the region.
