Hag’s Leap

Glencar Waterfall is famous for being an inspiration to Irelands greatest poet William Butler Yeats and features in his poem ‘The Stolen Child’.
Sliabh an Iarainn Mountain is the wild and rugged mountain in County Leitrim. It rises 585 metres above sea level and is located on the eastern shore of Lough Allen. Sliabh an Iarainn or “Mountain of Iron” derives its name from the iron deposits to be found in the rocks.
Nestling in the Glenade Valley, Glenade Lake sits amid spectacular scenery, within sight of the towering peaks of the Dartry range of mountains.
The Shannon Blueway can offer an adventure in itself as you complete the entire trail, but equally it invites you to visit any of its access points for a nature walk, a riverside picnic or even to just to sit for a while and take in the peace and tranquillity.
Ireland’s Blueways are a network of stunning trails that run alongside Ireland’s most idyllic lakes, canals and rivers. Taking you off the beaten track into the heart of unspoilt landscapes – by canoe, bike or on foot.
Close to the village of Drumkeeran, this once bustling small harbour is now the perfect spot for some peace and quiet along the shores of Lough Allen.
As the Glenaniff River travels down from the mountain above, it has eroded the local blue limestone to form a deep river valley.
Just outside the town of Ballinamore is Pól An Eas Waterfall, a true haven of natural beauty. Off the beaten track, this little waterfall takes you deep into the tranquillity at the heart of Leitrim.
The Glenfarne Demesne lies on the shores of Lough MacNean. The lake marks the border between the counties of Leitrim, Cavan and Fermanagh.
