The eco-friendly Tawnylust Lodge is a perfect retreat to just come and observe the natural world.
Based on a working farm, the Lodge’s rural location is a great place to come and recharge your batteries. Owner Nuala McNulty is a font of information for visiting guests as to what to see and where to go.
The Lodge is very comfortable and has been purpose built to the highest environmental and building standards, and is its heat recovery system that gives a fresh warm feeling throughout. High quality furnishings and tableware give a luxurious feeling to this rural self catering stay and the local art and craft on display give guests a glimpse of the creativity in the area.
In this tranquil location, the toughest decision of your day might just be which window to observe the wildlife and farm activities from, the only drawback to the triple glazing being that you may have to step outside to hear to full advantage the birdsong!
For those wanting to participate in activities, walking and hillwalking options are on your doorstep. Surrounded by lakes and rivers, the Lodge is an ideal base for anglers and cyclists and is on the North West cycle trail.
Guided nature, archaeology and foraging walks are on offer from the Lodge with local guides from Leitrim Landscapes Guided Walks or self-guiding maps are available. There are wonderful trails and archaeology sites to visit at the adjacent Cuilcagh Geopark.
